Polacca

Polacca

Polacca (or in the French polonaise)

La Polacca has been relaunched by Yves Saint-Laurent at the end of the 70s, for luxurious brocade evening frock coats with precious fur trims on the hems and sleeves, in the manner of Anna Karenina or Lara in Doctor Zhivago.

In the 18th century, it was a three-quarter length frock coat, with a straight neck, fastened by frogs, which was worn over the crinoline. It was revived by the tailor Charles Frederick Worth in the second half of the 19th century.
