NIMA BENATI

Nima Benati: the self-made photographer of fashion. 

Born in Bologna, class 1992, Nima Benati is one of the most requested photographers in the fashion industry. She is a self-taught. She went from taking pictures of her classmates, to shoot advertising campaigns for the biggest names in fashion.

Nima’s passion for photography was born early. She was eleven when she was enchanted and fascinated by a Gucci campaign in the era of Tom Ford. She started taking pictures that she posted on social media, capturing the attention of young girls who wanted to be immortalized by her. At the age of eighteen she bought her first studio in the suburbs. Audacity and passion do the rest.

Nima started to work with the first influencers, Chiara Ferragni and Chiara Biasi. Afterwards, in 2010, she started working effectively in the fashion sector.

HER WORK

She takes care of everything, from make-up to styling, to the choice of location to the building of a very specific aesthetic taste. She is a lover of the the works of Steven Meisel, Paolo Roversi, Mert & Marcus and Tim Walker. Her creativity also comes from her many travels. In fact, she says:

“My life is a perpetual photo shoot, everything revolves around that fixed idea: when I travel I always choose visually stimulating places. I visit them and photograph them in first person, as a tourist. Then, almost every time, I go back in that place for a client to shoot a campaign”. 

Among many he has shot for Patrizia Pepe, Cruciani, Amen, Elisabetta Franchi, Guess and then YSL and  Dolce & Gabbana. In 2017, she was awarded with the Emerging Talent Fashion Award, and two years later, in 2019, Forbes included her among the 100 young people under 30 who will guide the future of the country. 

Sometimes, because of her nice aesthetic, she is even compared to one of her models, and she herself dabbles in taking nice picture of herself as a model.
