Jean Schlumberger is a French jeweler born in 1907

Jean Schlumberger(1907). He is a  French jeweler. He is considered to have been one of the 20th century’s finest goldsmiths. He arrived on the American scene in the late 1940s after numerous successes in Europe designing jewelry for Elsa Schiaparelli and high society.Jean Schlumberger

In 1956, he started working with Tiffany and soon after became Vice-Chairman. His favorite sources of inspiration were flowers, leaves, animals, objects found in the sea, and mythological creatures. His most famous pieces were the magnificent Trophy he made for Diana Vreeland, the sinuous Iguana for Elizabeth Taylor, and the Little Bird on the Big Rock, a brooch made with gold, diamonds and a yellow 218-carat diamond known as the Big Rock.
