Nizzoli

Marcello (1887-1969). Architect and industrial designer. In 1923 he won a competition held by the Piatti silk factory in Como for shawl designs with geometric motifs influenced by Art Deco. In 1925-26, he designed scarves whose patterns were heavily influenced by Futurist art. He was an exponent of the second wave of Futurism and the author of important architectural projects, including houses for the staff of Olivetti at Ivrea. As an industrial designer, he was responsible for the famous Lettera 22 typewriter made by Olivetti.
