Nazareno Gabrielli

Nazareno Gabrielli, Italian leather goods company founded in 1907, when an expert bookbinder and leather decorator opened a craft workshop in Tolentino, in the Marches, ornamenting objects with chasing, repoussé, and burnishing techniques and, afterwards, with more sophisticated processes such as engraving, photo-engraving, and xylography.

Brand’s success

By 1922, the activity was a flourishing business, employing more than 70 members of staff, manufacturing articles of clothing and furnishings, small leather items, bags, and gloves. In 1928, Fiat selected the company to supply the decorated leathers intended for the corridors and seat panels of the first royal train to be built in Italy.

From the postwar period onwards, the prestige of the brand continued to grow, based partly on the use of modern and innovative production systems. Partly on contributions by well-known artists and designers.

Acquisitions

In Summer 1999, David Passino, the CEO and main shareholder, had to acknowledge the crisis and sell Gabrielli to the holding company of Angelo Corona. The company made it a part of the Pineider firm. &Quad;2001. The company was acquired by Lediberg, which guaranteed the survival of the historic brand. N.G. Diaries were launched. The N.G. label continues to symbolize quality leather goods.
