Dellera

Dellera was an italian fur shop. In 1885, in Pavia, Mattia Dell’Era opened a shop in the city center specialized in the manufacture of drive belts and shoe uppers. At his death, Carlo Lanzani took over the business and changed its name to Dellera and, in 1908, reorganized the Pavia headquarters. The main activity was the manufacture of furs, but suitcases, bags, and belts were also produced and distributed. In 1937, the firm opened a boutique in Milan on via S. Damiano. In the 1950s, the third generation, represented by Giancarlo, joined Tino Lanzani, his father, in the family business. When Elizabeth Taylor ordered a Dellera fur, international interest became focused on the brand. At the end of the 20th century, the company is led by the fourth generation: Andrea takes care of management and purchasing; his sister Gigliola is in charge of advertising and styles. Some of the production is done for third parties, for example the fur line produced for the French designer Erik Schaix in 1999.
