François Nars. French photographer and make-up artist. He has proved his talents working with Lagerfeld, Valentino, Versace, and the photographers Avedon, Ritts, Newton, and Desmarchelier. He moved into photography in 1994, making a name for himself at Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, and Elle with his images of top models taken in natural light with a large format 8×10 camera. The pictures were later published in X-Ray. Also in 1994 Nars François launched his own line of cosmetics, starting with a small collection of 12 lipsticks on sale at Barney’s New York until he created a brand of beauty and skincare that bears his name, taking care, since 1996, also of the advertising campaigns and photography.
