Henry Lloyd

English company of clothing for sailing established in July 1963. In the early 1960s, the Englishman Henry Strzolecki, who was very keen on sailing, wanted to exploit the new possibilities that the new hydro-repellent and waterproof technical materials could offer in the sailing market. He led the sector’s research into the most technical innovations for forty years. The main clothing lines are Atm (Advanced marina technology), which focuses essentially on sailing and offshore, and the fashion line for men, women, and children, which also includes more casual clothing. During the 1970s the company equipped Sir Ranulph Fiennes’ Transglobe Expedition, the first circumpolar journey around the world that lasted for three years. In 1987 it supplied the clothing for the crew of Stars and Stripes of the America’s Cup and was awarded with the Queen’s Export Award.
