Gianvito Rossi

Gianvito Rossi is an Italian footwear brand, founded in 2006 by homonymous fashion designer.

A family business

Gianvito Rossi is the son of Sergio Rossi, who dedicated his life to footwear. In 2006 he decided to found his own brand, which is continuing the high quality Made in Italy tradition and which uses a surname which tells an important part of history and which is both an opportunity and a responsibility.

The brand officially debuted with the 2007 SS collection, during the Milan Fashion Week. After his first store, opened in 2008 at Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi, in the heart of the Fashion Quadrilateral, and designed with the collaboration of Patricia Urquiola, Gianvito Rossi opened flagship stores all over the world: from Hong Kong to Milan, Paris, London, New York, Miami and Singapore.

In 2017 the brand announced it would expand its production, which has included, since then, also menswear shoes: the founder and Creative Director said he made this choice because he wanted to strengthen the bond between menswear and womenswear, using the same style codes in both the collections.

In 2021 a new expansion plan in China was announced, with the opening of new stores in addition to the one in Singapore and the entry of the brand into the main e-commerces of the country.

In July 2023 an important agreement between the company and the holding Richemont was concluded: the latter, winning after his concurrent OTB, acquired the 70 % of the company, paying 100 million euros. The sale, which assured a place in the company for his founder, is aimed at increase the international expansion of the brand.
