GIANLUCA LO VETRO, FASHION JOURNALIST

Gianluca Lo Vetro is a freelance Italian journalist who deals with costume. He graduated in Medieval History at the University of Milan.

Gianluca Lo Vetro wrote for l‘Unità from 1987 to 2014, the year the magazine was closed. In 1999 he collaborated with Donna Moderna, and since 2014 he has been collaborating with La Stampa, while from 2000 to 2004 he wrote for GQ.

Since 2004 the journalist has been a professor at the Alma Mater University of Bologna, where he teaches fashion modernity.

He is the creator of Televetriolo, information page on the world of fashion and costume, and he is the author of articles for Specchio+.

In 1998 the journalist edited Alfabetro (Leonardo Arte) and Alviero Martini. Style without borders (Leonardo Arte).

The encounter with Andy Warhol consolidated his passion for Pop Art, of which he considers Valeria Marini “a living masterpiece”. In 2008 he published Lezioni Intime – Valeria Marini with Gianluca Lo Vetro.

As of 2015 he published the book Fellini e la Moda – Percorsi di stile da Casanova a Lady Gaga. In an interview for Repubblica, the journalist talked about how the book was born, from the will to deepen the director’s relationship with fashion, a field that was previously not studied much.
