Gharani Strok (1995 – 2007) was a Londoner fashion brand, very successful in the ready-to-wear market. Since its birth he had been one of the favourite womenswear fashion brand, first in the United Kingdom and then all over the world.

The beginning at London Fashion Week

The English griffe was born thanks to Iranian Largess Gharani and Croatian Vanja Strok: when the childhood friends, who grew up in London, finished their fashion studies, decided to open their own atelier. In few seasons, they were renowned because of their petticoat dresses and their eclectic style.

In September 2001 the brand debuted on London Fashion Week catwalk, receiving fantastic reviews by a public made of main pundits of fashion world. Exactly in this period the duo rushed the industry, catching the attention of the international press.

The international success of Gharani Strok

Beyond an ample retail network in the United Kingdom, the duo earned an international favour, clear because of the presence of buyer who owned exclusive shops all over the world.

Because of the initial success, in 2000 the label signed an agreement with the English department store Debenhams, which they produced with a diffusion line named GS: artists such as Jasper Conran, Ben De Lisi, John Rocha and Matthew Williamson partnered too. The fair prices of the diffusion line allowed Gharani Strok to be accessible to a wide public without damaging the trust in their design.
