De Lisi

Ben (1955). American designer, born on Long Island, in New York. He studied painting and sculpture at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn from 1973 to 1977. His first work experience was at Bloomingdale’s, in the children’s department. In the late 1970s, he launched a men’s line called Benedetto. In 1982, he moved to London where he opened a French restaurant. Two years later, he returned to fashion with a women’s Collection. His style is rather distant from the somber London minimalism of the 1990s, something of which he is proud. In 1991, he began a partnership with the Jacques Vert group, manufacturers and distributors of fashion. He won the British Glamour Designer of the Year award in 1994 and 1995.
