Borletti

Fratelli Borletti Spa was an italian sewing machine. Romualdo Borletti established the firm Fratelli Borletti Spa in Milan in 1896. The plant produced on-board instrumentation for motor vehicles, both for industrial and private use. After World War I, in order to create jobs for women, the factory specialized in the manufacture of sewing machines, with the slogan “Borletti, punti perfetti,” which means “with Borletti, perfect stitches.” The Superautomatica model, designed by Zanuso in 1956, was exhibited at the Museum of Design 1945-1990 during Milan’s Triennial. The company would later become Borletti-Veglia and be acquired by FIAT.
