Moonboots

Voluminous, unwieldy snow boots, very cozy due to their thick foam-rubber lining. The exterior made of a synthetic material, shiny or matt, which can be brightly colored or more typically, white or navy. Fur versions are also available. Worn for après-ski, they first emerged in the early 1970s, after the world had seen them on the feet of the American astronauts who first set foot on the moon.
