Tiburzi

Alberta. Italian photographer. Her career in fashion began when she became a famous top model often photographed by Richard Avedon, Newton and Hiro. It was Hiro who gave her a Minolta reflex camera and asked her, after he saw her first photographs, “Why don’t you became a photographer?” Alberta accepted the suggestion that she become a fashion photographer and moved behind the lens, just as Sarah Moon and Deborah Turberville had done, publishing in L’Espresso, Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Lui, Amica and establishing herself immediately with her powerful personality. She admired the style of Guy Bourdin, and captured his vivid colors and his preference for outdoor settings. She is known for her meticulous research and her careful use of lighting, which she often prefers indirect, using mirrors of all sizes, which convey an intense luminosity and sharp angles. She lives and works in Rome.
