Thimister

Josephus Melchior (1962). Belgian fashion designer. Together with Martin Margiela and Ann Demeulemeester he belonged to the Antwerp group that revealed to the fashion world the existence of a pool of Belgian creativity. Born in Maastricht, he moved to Paris. For five years he was in charge of the Balenciaga Collections. In 1997, he launched a line of his own. He explored the realm of understatement, a word that he emphasizes and that he puts into practice with clothing distinguished by an almost monastic rigor.
