Tarabini

Rossella Tarabini (1967). Italian designer, daughter of the profession: her mother is Anna Molinari. After attending DAMS in Bologna, she continued to study art in London. After returning to Italy, she joined the family company, working as an assistant to the art director for advertising deisgn and for the runway presentations of Blumarine. In 1995, she designed her first Collection for Anna Molinari.
2002, February. For the Spring-Summer Collection, Anna Molinari designed slightly retro-style outfits, slightly reminiscent of the 1920s. An elegance that keeps its distance from minimalism, in order to gain a new appreciation for a nonconventional and nonconformist femininity.
2002, September. In clear contrast with the prevailing trends, the legs are covered and black is adopted: this time, no veils, no translucence, no miniskirts, but still very seductive outfits, in order to be at one’s ease at all times. Bon ton, even in the discotheque, shorts with flesh-colored pantyhose, fur jackets and glitter rowing shirts to be worn over silvery miniskirts.
2003, February. Rossella Tarabini takes Anna Molinari’s “pretty baby” to a “poetic and perverse bordello.” On the runway, the label presented suits and flounce skirts, ribbed shirts, dancer’s shoes with heels, in the Charleston style, little tulle outfits with wool fringes. Absolute black of pastel colors, from lilac to pale blue.
