Seterie Cugnasca

The company was founded in Como in 1920 by Giuseppe Cugnasca. Between the wars, its customers included some of the biggest names in French haute couture. In 1956, it was bought by Manero, one of the major textile groups that operates at international level. For many years, Cugnasca traded under its own name, asserting its excellent production reputation which established it as one of the most important textile businesses in Como. Managed by Cristiano Mantero, the Seterie Cugnasca proved to be one of group’s best assets. Towards the end of the 1980s, in the process of reorganizing the business, Seterie Cugnasca was completely bought up by Mantero. However, even today the name Cugnasca is associated with a top-quality collection of textiles for women’s clothing that reflects avantgarde research into new mixes of threads, color studies, and the application of new finishing techniques.
