Sandro Paris

Sandro, Parisian brand founded in 1984 by Evelyne Chetrite

Sandro Paris was founded by Evelyne Chetrite in 1984. The brand offers luxury ready to wear fashion and embodies the chic essence of the Parisian spirit, of timeless elegance.

Evelyne Chetrite

Evelyne Chetrite was born in Morocco in 1962. She recalls the colours of this land, the elegant white caftans worn by her mother and the piles of shirts displayed in her grandfather’s shop in Rabat. During her childhood Evelyn Chetrite cultivated her love for fashion that led her to move to Paris. Here she enrolled in law school but on weekends she worked in a vintage clothes store. She selected clothes based on her personal taste and this allowed her to create a circle of loyal buyers. The turning point came when, in the early 80s, she met Didier Chetrite, her future husband, with whom she founded the Sandro brand in 1984.

The first boutique and the brand’s success

They opened their first boutique on rue Vieille du Temple and it was an immediate success. Subsequently, they moved the brand’s headquarters to 150 Boulevard Haussmann, in the heart of Paris.

Sandro employs more than 1,700 employees worldwide, all of whom work closely with headquarters. At the end of the 2000s, the Sandro brand had more than 150 stores and a turnover of more than 100 million euros.

After the first boutique, the brand has progressively developed all over the world and in 2020 it had 730 points of sale in over 40 countries. Each store reflects the aesthetics of the collections with minimalist and elegant furnishings that recreate a modern and luxurious atmosphere.  Since 2010 it has been part of the SMCP Group listed on the Paris Stock Exchange.

The Sandro Homme line

In 2008 the brand expanded with the men’s line, Sandro Homme. The founders’ son, Ilan Chetrite (1984) , is at the head of the line. The Sandro Homme line is designed for a nonconformist but always chic man. Impeccable cuts, contoured dresses and oversized coats recall modern vintage aesthetic. The collections are presented during Paris Fashion Week.

Sandro Paris’s style

Sandro’s collections enhance femininity with clothes with a strong Parisian taste, refined and discreet. Sandro’s looks are designed for a city woman’s every day life. A bon-ton style between a preppy style and a more rock/street style.  The brand has helped to redefine the French contemporary dress through looks designed with a timeless style, simple but always sophisticated with continuous contaminations with the fashion of the past.

In 2020 it recorded a turnover of 414.3 million.
