RIB

RIB IS A SMALL FOLD ON THE OUTER SIDE OF THE FABRIC

The rib describes a very tiny fold sewn in relief, on the outer side of the fabric. It serves to emphasize the line of a dress, to draw a collar, to shape a shirt. It is a decorative and tailoring pattern at the same time.
