Pineider

Manufacturer of fine paper, writing materials, and leather business accessories. The company has had the same shop in a historic building in Piazza della Signoria (Florence) on the corner of Via Calimaruzza since it was founded by Francesco Pineider in 1774. Another branch was opened in Via Tornabuoni in 1861. Pineider was acquired by Maurizio Gucci’s company in 1989, and then two years later it passed into the hands of the Franco Cosimo Panini group. In 1997 it was bought outright for 5 billion lire by Angelo Corona. Corona then invested 15 billion in the business, opening 17 more shops and increasing the turnover from 15 to 60 billion lire. Pineider bought the leather goods business Nazareno Gabrielli in July 1999.
