SARTORIAL BACKGROUND AND VIBES FROM THE WEST COAST

Palm Angels is a brand founded by Francesco Ragazzi. Graduating from IED, he was passionate about photography. He began his career in fashion with an internship in Moncler’s press office. In a short time, he became the creative director of Remo Ruffini’s brand. In 2014, during a trip to the United States, he decided to tell the culture and style of the skater community. He achieved this through a photographic book published by Rizzoli, with a preface by Pharrel Williams. It was a success and the photographic project was transformed into a collection of unisex t-shirts, sweatshirts, and tracksuits presented in Paris for the Fall Winter 2015: thus Palm Angels was born.

It was produced and distributed by New Guards Group, a holding company founded by Marcelo Burlon and purchased by Farfetch. Palm Angels portray the spirit of the west coast and its relaxed vibes, through the sartorial background of Made in Italy. America and Italy, mainstream and background, Palm Angels is a game of contrasts that aims at creating a lifestyle. To do this, Francesco Ragazzi was inspired by Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger, pioneers in having created not just a company but a branded lifestyle.

The brand’s goal is to celebrate American culture from a different perspective. Logos, palm trees, and flames recur in the garments of the brand that in a few years has become a reference point in the streetwear scene with 210 stores around the world.

THE VOLUME PUBLISHED BY RIZZOLI

To present the Spring Summer 2021 collection, Francesco Ragazzi, in a moment dominated by digital tools, chose an analogical and tangible tool, which takes you back to the origins of the brand: a limited edition volume published by Rizzoli. With photos by David Sims and illustrations by the artist Javier Calleja, the book looks like a mood board, an Instagram feed. The founder of Palm Angels has stressed the importance of social networks many times, claiming to have built a company, an image starting from the mobile phone.


THE EYEWEAR LINE

In May 2021 the brand’s eyewear line was born, entirely Made in Italy, it will have two drops a year that will be marketed through wholesale Partners, department stores, and selected opticians.

THE COLLABORATION WITH MISSONI

One hundred and fifty pieces to tell the collaboration between Palm Angels and Missoni launched in June 2021. The streetwear universe meets tradition and art and thus oversize overalls, cardigans, and t-shirts are born that mix the codes of the two brands.
