Palacio & Lemoniez

Miguel Palacio (born in 1962 in Bilbao, Spain) and Fernando Lemoniez (born in 1964 in San Sebastiàn, Spain) started designing and producing their collections together in 1983, the same year that they opened a shop in San Sebastiàn. In 1990 they moved to Madrid, where they gradually consolidated their business, presenting elegant clothes that are always in step with the fashion of the moment. From 1991 (when they won the first of two T de Oro awards, for the best young designers) they started showing their collections on the Madrid runways and in 1992 they won a prize from the Spanish magazine Telva as the best Spanish designers. In 1993 they showed their Winter collection in Frankfurt and in 1994 started their overseas expansion. In 1995 they moved to Paris and presented themselves at Fashion Week. In 1999 they were still based in Paris, with a show room in Rue de l’Université.In 1999 the partnership broke up and both designers went back to making their own creations. Fernando Lemoniez showed his new collection on the Cibeles runway. For Fall-Winter 2002-2003 Palacio showed a collection inspired by the trends of the 1970s: with very high-waisted gabardine flared pants. The colors were black, brown, and sky-blue.
