OshKosh B’Gosh

American brand established over a century ago, best known for its Bib Overall dungarees designed for farmers and railroad workers, and recognised for their quality and durability. The name comes from the Wisconsin town Oshkosh where the company was founded in 1895, which in turn had been named after the chief of the Native American Fox tribe who had been buried there. Legend says that William E. Pollock, owner of OshKosh, heard the phrase “OshKosh by gosh” during a theatrical show, and decided to use it for his company.
In October 1999, the label broke into e-commerce, making it one of the first labels to sell its products online.
OshKosh signed a licensing agreement with the Target chain to produce the Genuine Kids by OshKosh range for children up to the age of seven.
Forbes included OshKosh in their 2002 list of the best 200 hundred small companies.
The Wisconsin brand’s clothing, including T-“shirts, swimwear and children’s wear, is distributed and sold in over 50 countries. OshKosh B’Gosh also distributes a variety of products such as car seats, hair accessories, pyjamas, bed-linen, shoes, and hosiery through licensing deals.
