Sonja (1964). English designer born in Liverpool. She attended various fashion courses and work experience placements with designers such as Norman Hartnell and Gina Frattini. After her Masters degree at St. Martin’s (1993), she worked as a consultant for various designers and department stores. In 1994, she launched her own line. She regularly takes part in London Fashion Week. Since 1995, she has taught design at different English colleges. She sums up her style with the phrase: “I want women who wear my clothes to feel desired.” She preaches the art of understatement with modern and refined forms. The American journalist Suzy Menkes has described her as “the feminist designer.”
