Navarra Gaetano (1970). Italian designer. Of Spanish origin, hewas born in Bologna where he gained experience in his family’s knitwear factory as he grew up. He has combined a technical background with his innovative personal taste to create a dynamic image for contemporary life. With a shaved head and arms decorated with tribal tattoos, Navarra himself reflects the spirit of a free man. The “rock soul” embodied in his collections manifests a taste for provocation blended with an extreme femininity.
The success
Since his first line of prêt-à-porter knitwear, which debuted in Milan in 1986, his success has increased continuously, as is confirmed by his presence at RomaAltaModa. The company has its headquarters in Bologna and produces garments that are sold in 500 stores in Italy, France, Germany, Great Britain, and across the Atlantic.
In 2003, his brand expanded to include a line of menswear. The company has showrooms in Milan and Rome and is stocked in 300 retail points in Italy and abroad. The jewel in its crown is the boutique on Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles.
Small leather goods
One of the first initiatives is the partnership, since 2005, with Marianelli Srl, for a license to produce and distribute accessories, bags and small leather goods for men and women. The partner ship succeded in quadrupling the turnover and expanding the activity and the visibility of the brand. Bags, briefcases, belts and clutches, which well represent the quality craftsmanship and style of Navarra. As it happens with the ready-to-wear clothing, also the accessories collections count on the fidelity of about 300 points of sale in Italy and abroad, while the distribution is entrusted to a network of 13 agents to extend in Europe, Far East, United States and Japan.
