Moncalvo

Riccardo (1915). Italian photographer. He continued a family tradition: his father was the owner of an industrial artistic photography studio in Turin. Their early interest in photographic research resulted in their images being included in a large number of exhibitions. Riccardo inherited his father’s studio in 1935 and made a mark with his eclectic professional activities. He worked for important clients, including Fiat and Pininfarina, and was Carlo Mollino’s preferred printer. He took portrait shots of theater and cinema actors and closely collaborated with the Fashion Agency of Turin. During the post-war period he consolidated his photographic work and stood out as a pioneer of color in his laboratory that became famous across the whole of Italy.
