Matohu is a brand created by Hiroyuki Horihata and Makiko Sekiguchi, husband and wife both born in 1971. The common thread of the collection is the kimono, and an always new and very interesting path of re-elaboration in a contemporary key of the structure and materials used for this archetype of Japanese fashion. The couple’s last collection, presented in 2008 at the Tokyo fashion week was inspired by the craquelé effect of ceramics of the 16th century.
