The boutique was among the first ones, in 1952, to adopt the luxury ready to wear policy, which already some tailors, like Fath, started to fuel. It was opened by the cousins Fred and Marcel Salem. The success was immediate and lasting. In 1966 the Marie Martine sign was present also in Deauville. Subsequently, amidst the ready to wear fashion boom, the boutique abandoned the strategy of high tone stylistic variety to sell only the Escada collections.
