GLENN MARTENS, BELGIAN STYLIST BORN IN 1983

Glenn Martens, born in 1983, is a Belgian stylist born in Bruges, appointed the creative director of Diesel in 2020. He arrived in the world of fashion by chance, after attending the prestigious Royal Academy of Fine Arts of Antwerp. After completing his studies he had the opportunity to work at Jean Paul Gaultier. In 2012 he had the idea of founding his homonymous brand, which however did not have the success hoped for, and after 3 collections the project was abandoned.

The following year, in 2013, he was appointed creative director of the brand Y/Project, after the death of the founder Yohan Serfaty. The streetwear and unisex clothes and the continuous experiments with asymmetries catalyzed the attention of the general public.

CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF DIESEL

In 2020 Renzo Rosso, the president of OTB chose Glenn Martens as the first creative director of the Diesel brand, after involving him in the Diesel Red Tag project in 2017.

When I met Glenn in 2017 I saw his growing experience and his rising talent. Working with him on Diesel red tag, scrolling through the archives and heritage of this company together, seeing him interact with the brand has united us, and today I am happy to see him take the reins of Diesel; his creative vision fits perfectly with the iconoclast values of this special brand

In June 2021 he debuted at the Milan Fashion Week. A short film, a dialogue between reality and dreams, where the brand’s tradition merges with the Martens aesthetics and where denim remains the protagonist.
