Manfield

French footwear brand. Although by now totally autonomous, even down to its horse logo, it was originally a branch of an English shoe company founded in 1844 by James Manfield, with a vast and undifferentiated range of products. Launched in France (the Paris store was opened on the Boulevard des Capucines in 1898) and Belgium, the company aimed its products at high-level consumers. Under the Thierry family, the French branch made its mark on the quality footwear market, offering a vast range of male and female designs, the latter produced in Italy, in about fifteen stores. Their most typical products are riding boots, low-heeled moccasins in nap leather with a buckle, and patent ‘nus-pieds‘ sandals.
