Magnoni Paula Clelia (1959). Jewelry designer. Born in Buenos Aires to Italian parents, with three children, a well-seasoned traveler, attracted from an early age by the magical fascination of precious stones, antique ornaments and jewelry as symbols rather than merely forms of ostentation.

For years she has collected rare and curious pieces, which she succeeds in endowing with a new vitality. Mah-jong counters, lucky animals, such as salamanders and frogs, old ivory buttons, dagger handles, precious coral tortoises, buckles and African amulets, shells, glass and stones all contribute to make up a surprising and curious collection.

Her designs, created in workshops in Milan and Rome, are slowly coming to notice. A necklace in ebony and red coral, a ring in Italian quartz with a superb ivory Buddha and another necklace made of amber, ebony and gold, all possess a rare beauty. Paula Clelia Magnoni uses materials such as stream pearls, aquamarine stones, amethysts, yellow quartzes, coral, ivory, ebony, jade from Japan, Brazil, India, Tibet, Thailand and the Dominican Republic. In March 1999 she held her first exhibition, at the Spazio Bigli in Milan, and later in Rome and Bologna. In December of the same year she exhibited in New York at Henri Bendel.
