Italian Institute of Fashion

Not-for-profit company established in 1983 on the initiative of the Industrial Fashion Association and the Center for Italian Fashion in Florence. Its aims were to co-organize some of the Pitti Immagine events and to promote and improve the image of Made in Italy abroad. Besides organizing the participation of qualified Italian companies in the most important international events and contributing to the development of commercial opportunities in new emerging markets, IIF manages (with the support of the Ministry and Institute of Foreign Commerce) six-month exhibitions specialized in Italian fashion in New York (Made in Italy at The Collective for men’s fashion, and Made in Italy at Fashion Coterie, women’s fashion), in Hong Kong (Europe Selection in collaboration with Igedo of Düsseldorf), in Moscow (Alta Moda Italia at Moda Moscow), and in Tokyo (Ginza Collections). The president of IIF was Umberto Angeloni. Marco Mayer acts as its managing director.
The new millennium starts with Piero Costa as the president and Raffaello Napoleone as vice-president.
The Italian Institute of Fashion organized the international event Children’s Club, dedicated to children’s wear. The Italian brands invited were Farò da grande, Katherine Hamnett Junior, Lastrucci, and Q come Quore.
IIF’s administrative and legal headquarters are in Florence, the commercial one is on Milan.
