Issermann

Dominique (1947). French photographer. She started as a complete beginner when she studied literature in Paris. After working as a set photographer in cinema and as photo reporter and portrait photographer of divas for the magazine Zoom, she came to fashion photography in 1974 due to a competition. The following year she turned professional. She started to collaborate with the magazine Vingt Ans, before moving on to the magazines of the Condé Nast group: Elle and Mirabella. She devised the advertising campaigns for Sonia Rykiel (with whom she had collaborated since 1979), Maud Frizon (since 1983), Nina Ricci, Saint-Laurent, Dior, and Kookai. In 1987 she exhibited her photos at Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie in Arles and won the Oscar for fashion photography. Her images are recognizable for their stylized touch and sophisticated atmospheres.
