In her collections, Huizhou Zhao pays particular attention to innovation without neglecting the rich and varied heritage of the past. In the name of this deep bond, Huizhou Zhao is committed to protecting and promoting the cultural heritage of ethnic minorities, handicrafts, and ancestral techniques of Chinese culture in the fashion and textile sectors.

She brought her fashion to the Paris Fashion Week as early as 2009 and in 2014 she dressed the first ladies of the presidents gathered for the APEC Summit in Beijing (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation).

In addition to talented fashion designer, she is considered among the most highly rated in China with her fashion group, Eachway Fashion Group. She is also a spokesperson for the China Textile Entrepreneur Association and the Asian Fashion Association.

In the city of Milan Huizhou Zhao, in addition to having presented her clothes on several occasions, also brought a small part of her collection of art objects and souvenirs kept in the 50 thousand square meters of her museum company in Shenzhen.

The style of the brand

The brand identity is inspired by the extraordinary Asian attitudes, by the cuts that mix with the rigor of clean and minimal design. A mood that undoubtedly arises from Zhao’s passion for art and fashion. The designer Zhao Huizhou is also a collector of different styles of works of art present both in China and abroad.

Constant research in the field of fashion and traditional culture led her to create the Centennial Fashion Museum.

The designer drew inspiration for the decorative elements of her collections from these evocations.

Plastic necklaces and brooches were applied to the fabric as embroideries, reminiscent of paper carvings, and leather sandals that in shape recall those that Hui wore as a child. And then floral motifs, a symbol of oriental femininity, which the designer translates into dresses with minimalist lines and neutral colors.

Hui foundation

The Hui Foundation is a museum that successfully showcases period costume designs ranging from the Qing dynasty, ethnic minority cultural heritage, the Republic of China stage, the establishment of the People’s Republic of China, the times of reform and openness, and finally the modern era. This best reflects the historical evolution of the Chinese contemporary fashion culture.

The foundation is committed to spreading Chinese art and culture around the world. It spreads the aesthetic values and the concept of Chinese design to raise public awareness of cultural heritage. The idea of inheriting and innovating art and culture through design is directly reflected in the Hui fashion collections.

Social commitment and heritage protection

Since its founding in 2016, the Hui Foundation has been incentivizing donations and organizing cultural tours for students in the Chinese province of Guizhou. As a pioneer of this project, she herself goes to visit the villages that are located outside the most famous tourist destinations. This allows us to get in touch with the local people and live a real cultural experience.

The goal is to create deep relationships among students which are enriched spiritually by the culture of the places visited and the inhabitants of these villages. Thanks to these aids, local women have the opportunity to continue working so as not to disperse the extraordinary heritage of craftsmanship and dexterity that makes them unique.

Her name also appears among those who made their contribution during the Covid-19 emergency. Hui announced that she donated 10,000 masks and 200 protective face shields to the Civil Protection Department of the Municipality of Milan to support doctors, nurses, researchers, and volunteers who worked tirelessly to fight the epidemic.

“In the difficult battle against the coronavirus infection, each contribution has an enormous and precious value from a human point of view: ours was a natural gesture towards a country, Italy and in particular the city of Milan, to which we are linked since our origin “

The city of Milan has hosted the Hui brand fashion shows for several seasons. The Chinese designer is deeply grateful for this, and hopes to return soon.

2020 spring-summer collection

The Spring Summer 2020 collection designed by Hui represents a game of contrasts between strong colours and evocative emotions such as the passion, purity, and traditionality of Chinese culture. Innovation and classic elegance are some of the main features of the capsule collection.

The precious details that enrich the garments and accessories bring to light decorations and motifs dating back to ancient Chinese dynasties. The reinterpretation of denim in a modern key acquires personality through the use of embroidered borders on the pockets, while the cuffs are embroidered with endless shades.

The main colors of this capsule are undoubtedly vibrant yellow, green, red, white, and gold. Black and nude shades of tulle and chiffon create contrasts with sensuality and elegance.

The color that best represents the Chinese world, red, is reinterpreted with the use of satin crepe and signs the single-color outfits where ultra-feminine bustiers are characterized by clean and simple lines. Another iconic color is definitely gold. This color is used to highlight the profiles of Cady and organza dresses and tracksuits in milky white.

MILAN FASHION WEEK 2021

In February 2021, the fashion designer was invited to participate in the Milan Fashion Week with the Hui brand for the seventh time. This time the theme of Hui’s autumn and winter collection features shadow play elements. The source of inspiration is precisely the shadow theater, an ancient Chinese tradition able to create suggestion and mystery. A game of contrasts, soft textures with rougher grits, lightness, and rigid design, in a perfect overall balance.
