Line of ready-to-wear fashion from Vestimenta group. Established in 1962 in Mattarello (Trento), it is now composed of 10 operational units, 2 commercial headquarters, 3 direct sales points in Japan, 800 employees, and a turnover that amounted 220 billion Liras in 1998, 70% of which was attained through exports. The Hilton line, which was accompanied by a women’s Collection towards the end of the 1980s, is distributed in Europe, America, Canada, the Far East, and Japan.
The company split and gave origin to Borgo 21, of which Armani holds 60% of the shares, the remaining 40% is owned by the Mosterts family. Hilton is still owned completely by Mosterts.
The year closed with a consolidate turnover of 51 million Euros and a total production of 414,000 pieces, 45% of which were sold the company’s label. The number of employees was 520.
In addition to the headquarters in Mattarello (Trento), production was enriched by 5 new production units, each specialized in different operations. Jackets and coats are manufactured in Vicenza, menswear is made in Trebaseleghe, fluorescent fabrics in Gallarate, men and women’s pants in Padua, and Ungaro’s womenswear is produced in Vaprio d’Adda.
An agreement was signed at the beginning of the year for the global production and distribution of Trussardi Uomo and CK One men and womenswear.
The company decentralized the technical clothing production and CK’s knitwear to Hong Kong. “These are small productions that are carried out in laboratories and factories of suitable dimensions”, claimed Roberto Zanetto, general manager.
