Godely

Georgina (1955). British designer. Her creativity has often been shaped by the study of human anatomy, by paying attention to the body and gestures. This study was not used to create a linear and minimalist fashion, but in order to achieve new inventions and not abstract fantasy. Her eclectic background includes studying in Wimbledon and at Brighton College in painting, sculpture, fashion and 3-dimensional drawing. She collaborated with Scott Crolla, with whom in 1981 she opened a cult shop, Crolla, inspired by neo-romantic tastes. In 1986 she launched her first women’s Collection: sophisticated clothing of sculptural quality that glorified the female body, exaggerating its dimensions. Her maternity dress with its stuffed belly and the wedding dress with slashes around the breasts have attained their place in fashion history.
