Fil-à-Fil
28 November 2012
This pattern is obtained by symmetrically alternating two yarns, one dark and one light, both in weft and warp. In poplin or percale, it is a classic for the manufacture of shirts. More rare is a fil-à-fil of strong, thick wool that creates a diagonal zigzag effect, usually in tones of grey.
