Federico Cina

Federico Cina, young designer from Emilia Romagna who founded his brand in 2019

Born in 1994 in a small town of three thousand inhabitants, Federico Cina expresses his origins through shapes and fabrics. The heart of Romagna, Sarsina, the fields and the farm tradition relive through his clothes. Federico Cina first studied at the Polimoda in Florence, then in Japan at the Osaka Bunka Fashion College. The collaborations with Brooks Brothers and Emilio Pucci followed, as well as the debut at AltaRoma in 2019 with the Romagna Mia collection. The same year he won the “Who’s On Next?” and in July 2020 he made his debut at the Milan Fashion Week with the “Corpi e luoghi” collection.

He transformed something that he hated when he was little, the fact he was born in a small town, into his strength. After making his dream of him come true, to live in a city, in New York, Japan and Milan, he understood that was not his place di lui in the world and he decided to return to Sarsina, where he rediscovered the magic of his land of him. The Romagna tableclothes, the local and Green fabrics, the Romagna coast; nostalgic tale that looks to the future.

In 2021 the designer from Romagna launched It’s not your business, a charity project to support the LGBTQIA+ community, developed in collaboration with Francesco Cicconetti (activist and influencer). This is how an organic cotton shirt was born, which proceeds were donated to the Movimento Identità Trans no profit organization.

Federico Cina was selected among the 20 semifinalists for the LVMH 2021 award.
