Ente Moda Italia is a nonprofit organization created in 1983 on the initiative of the Associazione Moda Industria and Centro di Firenze per la Moda Italiana. It has the purpose of co-managing some Pitti Immagine events and to promote and enhance made in Italy abroad. Moreover, it organizes the participation of qualified Italian companies. Which are in the most important international events and contributes to the development of commercial opportunities in new emerging markets. Emi manages (with the patronage of the Ministry and the Institute for Foreign Trade) six-monthly specialized exhibitions. Mainly, for Italian fashion in New York (Made in Italy at The Collective, men’s fashion, and Made in Italy at Fashion Coterie, women’s fashion), in Hong Kong (Europe Selection in collaboration with the Igedo of Düsseldorf), in Moscow (Alta Moda Italia, in Moda Moscow) and in Tokyo (Ginza Collections).

Emi’s current president is Antonio Gavazzeni; the managing director is Alberto Scaccioni. Although there is a new Board of Directors. Namely, Gianfranco Di Natale (General Manager of Sistema Moda Italia, confirmed as Managing Director of EMI Promotion), Stefano Festa Marzotto, Roberto Luongo (General Manager of ICE – Agency for promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies), Raffaello Napoleone (CEO of Pitti Immagine), Fabio Tamburini, and of course Antonio Gavazzeni and Alberto Scaccioni. The new Board of Statutory Auditors of EMI has also been appointed, consisting of Gino Valenti (Chairman), Mario Pia and Giuseppe Urso.
