EMILY THE STRANGE, CHARACTER CREATED BY ROB REGER PROTAGONIST OF DIFFERENT FASHION COLLECTIONS
Emily the Strange, character created in 1991 by skater Rob Reger for his clothing company, Cosmic Debris Etc. Inc., represents a caricature of a 13 year old goth girl. Reger created various drawings of Emily, and her friend Matt Reed used them to make T-shirts. Initially distributed at concerts, in record and skateboard shops, a line of clothing and accessories was then created. Cosmic Debris became a multi-million dollar company, leading to the production of a line of clothes, stickers, objects, accessories in addition to comics with Emily as the protagonist. The black and red colors characterize the collections, as well as the bats and skeletons, used as buttons.
The brand has changed the gothic style making it suitable for a very young target.
