CALCATERRA DANIELE

BRAND AND FASHION DESIGNER ,   C

Daniele Calcaterra is a designer from Milan, who, after being the art director of Piazza Sempione, founded his brand

Daniele Calcaterra was born in Milan in 1973 and studied in the different branches of the Istituto Moda e Design. He immediately entered the style office of important historic Italian manufacturing companies, dealing with men’s and women’s collections. In 2006, he opened his own stylistic studio and began collaborating with many Italian brands providing a more international aesthetic. From 2009 to 2012 he was the art director of Piazza Sempione. The company also entrusted him with the stylistic direction of the line dedicated to the American market “Lavia18”.

In 2014 Daniele Calcaterra launched the brand with Diego Corbellini, its CEO. The Auge company owns the property and placed its headquarters in Brescia. His collections stand out for the search of volumes, the development of exclusive materials, sophistication and great stylistic contemporaneity. Each product signed by Calcaterra encloses the history of many prominent artisan realities, all strictly “Made in Italy”. With a careful study of shapes it enhances new corporealities and it promotes an ethical and timeless fashion. The brand debuted at the Milan Fashion Week with the fall/winter collection 2017, a perfect synthesis of the Milanese designer’s aesthetics. During the same year in the historic centre of Salò, on Lake Garda, the first single-brand store was inaugurated, of about 300 square meters.

Quality and sophisticated design is very popular in the US market, which is particularly careful and inclined to pay attention to Italian creatives. In fact the brand has been distributed in the Kuem showroom of New York since the spring/summer 2019 season. As of 2020, Calcaterra’s turnover had a + 20% increase also thanks to the new distribution structure created in collaboration with Windsor consulting.

In addition to his own label, Daniele Calcaterra is still collaborating with many important Italian and international brands.
