Bode, the brand of the Swiss designer Emily Adams Bode
Luxury menswear band founded in 2016 by Emily Adams Bode. After just seven months, it debuted on the New York catwalks and then moved to Paris. The research of fabrics is essential for the brand, which are carefully selected and found all over the world, in markets and antique dealers, as if they were depositories of the human experience. This is the idea at the base of the Bode collections. Each dress incorporates a piece of history, fashion represents the story telling of past times. The old becomes the new, this is the ethos that fuels the brand. Touching a bode dress is a sensory experience.
Emily Adams Bode
She was born in Atlanta. After the studies in Switzerland she moved to New York when she earned two degrees: one in design, at the Parsons School of Design and the other in philosophy at the Eugene Lang College. After gaining experience at Ralph Lauren and Marc Jacobs, she decided to launch her brand making clothes with vintage fabrics that tell a story. Most of the fabrics come from the American North East, and the contact with the antique dealers who find the material is fundamental.
Emily Adams Bode
In 2019 the first awards for the young designer arrived: she was a finalist of the LVHM prize, and she was included by Forbes in the list of the most influential under 30s in the fashion world. The following year she obtained the Woolmark prize: Karl Lagerfeld award for innovation. Emily is now an established fashion designer with a recognizable style and brand.
