Creed

Charles Creed (1909-1966). English designer. The sixth in a line of tailors, he studied in England and Vienna. At the end of a short apprenticeship at Bergdorf Goodman in New York, he returned to the family firm in Paris. At the end of World War II he opened his own shop in London, and it was especially famous for its classic and elegant tailoring characterized by faultless cutting. Alongside the refined tailored clothing, he would later offer sportswear lines created expressly for the American market. The atelier closed upon his death.
