Clements Ribeiro

English brand of ready-to-wear fashion. The British Suzanne Clements (1968) and the Brazilian Inacio Ribeiro (1963) graduated from Central Saint Martin’s in 1991, got married, and moved to Brazil, where they established a consultancy business working for several clothing firms. In 1993 they moved back to London, where they settled, and presented their first Collection for Spring-Summer 1994. Their creations are permeated with an eclectic vision that reconciles, thanks to the simplicity of shapes, contrasting elements: here a cashmere T-shirt, or a haute couture fabric used for ready-to-wear. In 1997 they also launched a shoe Collection.
They have received the title Designer of the Year five times. In 1996 they won the British Fashion Awards in the section “new generation.”
The griffe makes its début in Paris.
The two designers become directors of the Cacharel prêt-à-porter women’s lines.
