CARLO CAPASA IS THE PRESIDENT OF CAMERA DELLA MODA, WHO PUT MILAN ON THE MAP OF FASHION.

Carlo Capasa was born in Lecce, Puglia on January 21, 1958. He is also the husband of the famous Italian actress Stefania Rocca. For the sake of his studies, he moved to Milan at a very young age. Very soon, he realized that his career, would be linked to the world of fashion.

COSTUME NATIONAL

Carlo capasa

Capasa worked for various companies, holding different roles. It was in 1986, along with his brother Ennio Capasa, that he founded Costume National . In the same year, they presented the first women’s collection in Milan.

In 1991, they decided to present Costume National in Paris, and in 1993 launched Costume National Homme. Between 1995 and 1998 the Maison inaugurated boutiques in Milan, New York, Rome, Los Angeles, and Paris.

In 2010 Costume National announces the entry of the Japanese-Chinese group SEQUEDGE as a minority shareholder, with a long-term strategic partnership.

In 2013, after 22 years, Costume National returns to show in Italy and presents the Spring / Summer 2014 collection in September. Since 2016, the company has been owned by the Japanese-Chinese fund Sequedge.

CAMERA DELLA MODA

The Camera Della Moda promotes the development of Italian fashion in the national and world market. In 2010 Carlo Capasa was appointed director for the first time. He then took over from Mario Boselli who was elected President only in April 2015. Capasa, chosen to orchestrate the relaunch of the Association, marked a strategic vision centered on four pillars: sustainability, digitization, new brands and storytelling. The board had initially confirmed his position until 2020 by re-electing him for the new three-year term as president of the organization.

Under the leadership of Carlo Capasa, CNMI has maintained a great importance among the various world organizations by harmonizing the power of collaboration with the most important entrepreneurs of the various groups associated with the Chamber of Fashion. The common goal remains to raise the Milan fashion week in the world fashion calendar, and make Italy’s role ever stronger.

Carlo Capasa kicked off the first three editions of the “International Roundtable on Sustainability”, that is the international meeting for CSR managers of fashion companies from all over the world. In collaboration with Livia he realizes the first three editions of the “Green Carpet Fashion Awards Italia”.

Many events have been organized by him to help promote young Italians and new talents. The current president of the Chamber of Fashion believes that by creating a more inclusive environment it is possible to fuel the growth of the Italian fashion industry towards the future.

CNMI has become the world leader. He has harnessed the power of collaboration with the designers in the group. Significantly, by asking members of the chamber to cease squabbling and support each other. With the common goal of elevating Milan fashion week in the fashion calendar.
