REMO RUFFINI IS THE PRESIDENT AND CEO OF MONCLER

Ruffini, Remo is an Italian entrepreneur born in Como on the 27th of August 1961. He is the president and CEO of MonclerRuffini Partecipazioni SRL owns 22.5% of Moncler.

THE DEBUT IN HIS FATHER’S COMPANY, GIANFRANCO RUFFINI

Remo Ruffini is Gianfranco Ruffini’s son. The latter was the owner of the homonymous company based in New York in the 70s. Initially, the entrepreneur worked at his father’s company, before returning to Italy in 1984. Here he founded his brand, New England Company, that he sold to the Stefanel Group in 2000.

REMO RUFFINI’S ARRIVAL IN MONCLER AND THE BRAND’S REVOLUTION

In 2003, Remo Ruffini joined Moncler as CEO. Over the years, Ruffini revolutionized Moncler, transforming it from a small brand, originally from France, into a giant of contemporary luxury. Under Ruffini’s direction, the brand earned more than 660 million dollars a year, mainly thanks to its expansion in the Asian market. In 2013, the brand entered the Milan Stock Exchange.

Part of the brand’s expansion is due to the partnership with the Carlyle group and to the introduction of new colours and designs regarding the creative aspect.

MONCLER GENIUS, THE AWARDS AND ACQUISITIONS

In 2017 Ruffini won the EY as best Italian entrepreneur of the year. A year later, Ruffini launched Moncler Genius, a synergistic project with eight designers who reinterpreted the codes of the French house.

In 2020 Moncler bought Stone Island. Together with Carlo Rivetti, Ruffini aims at strengthening the market competitiveness of the two brands, at expanding into Asian markets and focusing on sustainability. Speaking of sustainability, in 2021, Moncler launched its ecological down jacket with the project Born to Protect.
