Bucci

Ampelio Bucci (1936) directed the Management Sector of Domus Academy, Milan’s post-university school of fashion, design and, indeed, management. After his studies at Bocconi University, he opened a company dedicated to strategic consulting and education, named Mies, which worked mostly for the textile and clothing industries. In the 1980s, on behalf of Group Montefibre, he was director of the Design Center, which tried to anticipate trends and innovation in fashion. In 1994 he was placed in charge of the Italian portion of a European Union research project on employment needs in the European textile industry through 2002. He has been a visiting professor at the Institut Franµais de la Mode, at the Université Dauphiné, and at the University of Art and Design of Helsinki. He coordinated several exhibitions, including Il senso della moda (The Sense of Fashion) at the Triennial of Milan in 1979, Il consumo culturale (Cultural Consumption) at the Biennial of Venice in 1981, and La casa italiana (The Italian House) at Pitti Immagine Casa in 1997.
He is a lecturer at the project seminar Designing in Between the Ambiguity at the Domus Academy. The workshop investigates changes in the field of interior furnishings, one in which the barriers between different products are more and more often eliminated.
