Brighton Museum

Brighton Museum of this British city has a department for clothes, accessories, and fabrics. It owns more than 10,000 pieces and collects mainly material of local manufacture, from the second half of the 18^th century up to today. Among the most important items are two costumes from the coronation ceremony of George IV in 1821. Recent acquisitions have been in the sphere of contemporary international fashion, with special attention to British avant-guard.
