Bella

Bella was a women’s weekly magazine featuring practical articles, specializing in knitwear, published by Rizzoli. It was established in the immediate post-war period as a romance magazine. Giorgio Scerbanenco, a great writer of mysteries and detective stories, was its founder and director. In 1963 the magazine changed its format under the new direction of Emilio De Rossignoli and in 1970, led by Maria Santini, it changed again and became a classic women’s magazine, adding the typical columns on fashion and beauty. In 1987 it underwent a radical restyling and became Più Bella. In 1989 Antonella di Scovolo became the new editor-in-chief. In 1995, after some troubled years, the magazine was sold to Editoriale Donna. Since 1998 it has been under the leadersip of Marina Bigi.
Patrizia Caglioni, who worked on the editorial staff of Anna&b;, becomes the new director. The arrival of this editor from Bergamo is a result of the reorganization that followed the acquisition of Editoriale Donna by Alberto Donati.
